Bassist Tom Aylott has left The Gospel Youth (TGY).

The band revealed the news in a statement which was released via TGY’s Facebook page – read the band’s statement in full below.

“I remember meeting Tom years ago in a dive bar in London and we spoke for hours about punk rock and touring. Some years later, when we first started this band he was the first to get behind us and help us into a platform for our music that made us able to do some of the things we’ve achieved today.

With that, I’m sorry to announce that Tom is no longer a part of The Gospel Youth. He is, and always will be one of our best friends and we’re eternally grateful for all the hard work and dedication he constantly put in to the last few years but with the next chapter, we’ve decided that it’s best we part ways.

Tom will be continuing his incredible solo stuff, so please give him a follow and support everything he does. He’s one of the best human beings this planet has to offer and we’ll miss him a lot. Thank you for your time, brother. TGY
